Going down the rivers Odra and Olza

Boat rental

The boat rental was assured for you by partners of the project „June – the month of friendship at the junction of the rivers Odra and Olza“ that is co-financed by the EU from the operational program of over the borderline cooperation between the CR and Poland 2007-2013. Among the partners belong the City of Bohumin, the association named Poseidon from the Tesin –Silesian region and gmina Krzyzanowice from the Silesian region.

Organization manual of the boat rental

A boat is lent only to a person proving its identity by the ID card and who is written into the list of borrowers and by its signature confirms its agreement with the lender’s conditions and the organization manual rules (further mentioned as a “waterman”). The boat is handed back in 2 hours from its borrowing.
The boat, paddles and life-jackets are lent free of charge (under a bond of 1000CZK) and in the case of some damage or loss, the waterman is obliged to compensate the caused damage.
To people under 18 a boat is lent only with the approval of a legitimate representative (parents)
The boat is rented at the person’s own risk, each waterman has to confirm that is able to master a boat. The waterman is responsible for himself/ herself and the whole crew either.
The watermen are aware of the fact that will go down the border meanders of the rivers Odra and Olza which are proclaimed the natural sanctuaries and will respect the rules of recommended behaviour in these meanders, especially:
- they won’t be noisy in meanders and won’t rouse nesting birds and other protected animals and creatures won’t throw litters in meanders
- won’t approach nearer to upright river banks where protected Sand Martin Bird (Riparia riparia) and River Kingfisher Bird (Alcedo atthis) are nesting
- will stem around ducks and shelducks with their young ones near the opposite bank
The watermen won’t get out of the boats to a bank river, especially to gravel alluvia where Shorebirds (Charadrius duius) and Spotted Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos) are nesting.
The watermen won’t get out of the boats to a bank river, especially to fine sand alluvia where Wandering Spiders (Arctosa cinerea) live.
The watermen respect the Ten Waterman’s Commandments and other rules written in the Waterman’s guide of the rivers Odra and Olza (surrounding of the rivers Odra and Olza junction)
The waterman go down the river organized in groups of at least two boats and in case of need are ready to help each other
In case of need the watermen can also ask for help the promoter of this activity whose mobile phone contact they are obliged to find out at the start of a water trip.
To cover expenses connected to transport of the boats, the promoter collects a lump amount of 100 CZK per boat.
It’s not necessary to book a boat in advance.
